We’re proud to announce the launch of the BBB Excellence in Business Award, the next evolution of our beloved EICS (Excellence in Customer Service) program. This prestigious new honor reflects what it truly takes to thrive in today’s business environment: Customer Service, Trust, Ethics, and Community Impact.

Excellence is no longer defined by one measure alone. This redesigned award celebrates businesses that not only deliver outstanding customer experiences, but also lead with integrity, build trust with employees and the public, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

About the BBB Excellence in Business Award

The BBB Excellence in Business Award is the evolution of BBB of Southern Colorado’s esteemed Excellence in Customer Service (EICS) program. This new award reflects what it truly takes to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment—recognizing businesses that excel not only in customer service but also in integrity, trust-building, and community impact. 
This honor is designed to spotlight organizations that deliver outstanding customer experiences, lead ethically, foster public and employee trust, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. 
Participation in this program offers businesses a platform to showcase their excellence, gain insights through a thoughtful and simplified application process, and receive public recognition at the Night of Excellence Gala. 

Award Evaluation Categories 
Award applicants will be evaluated across four core criteria that define a truly excellent business: 

  • Customer Service – Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. 

  • Trust – The ability to build and sustain trust with customers, employees, and the public. 

  • Ethics – Adherence to high standards of business integrity and responsibility. 

  • Community Impact – Meaningful contributions to community well-being and development
